Dismissing Wike will be risky for PDP – Gov Ortom. The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been cautioned by the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, to redress the injustices done to Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, and other PDP members since failing to do so could hurt the party’s electoral prospects.
On September 19, Governor Ortom remarked, “The leadership of the party has failed to utilize its internal process and conflict management abilities in resolving the problem.” Governor Ortom was speaking at the Benue State Government House.
“My friend Wike has been treated unfairly because he stood up for the party and gave it his all.
Instead of moving individuals about as if they were irrelevant, the party leadership should take the necessary action to rectify the issue. Everyone matters, and one vote can prevent you from winning an election. Dismissing Wike will be risky for PDP – Gov Ortom
Therefore, the national leadership needs to take more action. Politics is about what interests our state and its citizens. What should I say to my Benue family?
Governor Ortom warned the party not to demote any of its members at the national level, saying
“I think it will be risky if you disregard us and say you don’t need us. In order for us to cooperate and avoid a crisis as the election approaches, I want the party to address the injustices.
