Matteo De Cosmo, a seasoned art director, passed away as a result of coronavirus complications. He was 52.

De Cosmo, a New York resident, contributed to a number of ABC Studios’ television programs, including Emergence, The Punisher, and Luke Cage.

Rihanna has confirmed that she will perform at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show.

He most recently contributed to the ABC Studios drama pilot Harlem’s Kitchen, which starred Delroy Lindo and whose production was halted in mid-March owing to the coronavirus outbreak, along with almost all other pilots and series.

Zahir McGhee, the creator and showrunner of Harlem’s Kitchen, is among several in the industry who have paid appreciation.

“Creating television is difficult. However, there are those people who demonstrate every day that everything is possible by their talent, drive, and grin. One of the people was Matteo, according to McGhee. “He will be missed. The entire Harlem’s Kitchen family sends its condolences to Aris, Matteo’s wife, and Marcello, his son, as well as to all of his friends and family who are mourning his passing.

De Cosmo also worked as the art director on a number of movies, including Precious, And So It Goes, the Chadwick Boseman-starring 21 Bridges, and others. The Affair and Madam Secretary are among his additional TV credits.

In a statement, ABC Studios said: “We were devastated to learn of the passing of Matteo DeCosmo, a fantastic art director with whom we had collaborated on numerous productions, including a recent pilot. He was a genuine talent who was very inventive and much liked by everyone he worked with. His family and friends are in our thoughts as we mourn his loss.

Besides his son Marcello, De Cosmo is survived by his wife Aris.
