Paul Pogba claimed earlier this month that he had been the target of extortion attempts and threats from an organized gang. The Paris prosecutor’s office began a judicial investigation into these claims.
According to judicial sources, who spoke to Reuters this month, the 29-year-old Juventus midfielder claimed to the Paris prosecutor’s office that he had been the victim of extortion by old pals since March and had paid them £85,000 (€100,000) in the spring.
The footballer was allegedly intimidated by the organization in Turin in the summer as well as Manchester in March.
Pogba is reportedly said to have been intimidated and accused of not giving his loved ones enough money since he became a successful professional football player while being escorted to an apartment in Paris.
According to Franceinfo radio, the outfit wanted £11 million (€13 million) from the French midfielder for “protection services” that allegedly dated back 13 years and were armed with MI6 assault guns.
