President Biden blasts Donald Trump for keeping secret documents at Mar-a-Lago.

President of the United States Joe Biden stated that it was “irresponsible” that top-secret materials were found at the Mar-a-Lago resort of former president Donald Trump.

Biden said this when appearing on the CBS program 60 Minutes. He added that after learning that the White House had lost secret information, he questioned how “someone could be that careless.”

“And I wondered, what information was there that may jeopardize sources and procedures?” said Biden.

The president claimed he was not given advance notice of the search of the Trump estate and that he has not requested any details because he “doesn’t want to get involved in whether or not the Justice Department should move or not move on certain actions they could take.”

Approximately 11,000 papers, including about 100 with classification marks discovered in an office and a storage room, were taken, according to the FBI, when they executed a search warrant at his residence on August 8. Weeks following the search, Trump’s attorneys requested that a special master be appointed by the court to conduct an impartial assessment of the records.

According to the search warrant, federal officials were looking into possible violations of three distinct statutes, including the Espionage Act’s rules on gathering, transferring, and losing defense-related material.

The president declined to say if he will compete for re-election in 2024 during the in-depth interview, despite having previously stated his intention to do so.

He declared, “As I indicated at the outset, my objective is to run again.” “However, it’s only an intention. But have you really decided that I should run again? That is still up in the air.”
