Super Eagles took over the first half of the match, silencing Mohamed Salah, Egypt’s main ma.

Ahmed Hegazy of Egypt had the chace to take the first free-kick in the first minute of the game.

In the 25th minute, Moses Simon missed an opportunity, hitting the side net.

Awoniyi nearly scored Super Eagles’ second goal in the 37th and 41st minutes but was stopped by Egypt’s goalkeeper, El Shenawy.

The game ended 1-0 in favour of Nigeria.
